Hello, this is Craig Dennis. I just got back from the 2014 Ram Heavy Duty Truck training where we looked at the open "C channel" frame VS the Hydro-formed box frame on the Ram Heavy Duty. The factory guys singled out the Ford F350, but Chevy, Toyota, and Nissan use the same design. It is clear to see that a boxed frame is stronger, but using Hydro-formed steel makes the Ram frame even stronger.
